Most people assume the parsley is simply there to look pretty, and it gets tossed out at the end of your meal. Those same antimicrobial properties that allow parsley to freshen your breath can also help to prevent against these issues. By hindering the growth of bacteria, you'll have fewer in the mouth to produce acids that attack the gums and enamel.

Parsley can also prevent a variety of cancers, as it is packed full of myricetin. This flavonoid is also found in cranberries, and it is known to help fight aggressive forms of cancer. Parsley also contains chlorophyll and apigenin, which have both shown promise in the fight against cancer.
